Caricatures...

I came across some caricatures that I had done of some of my coworkers :P The above are my favorites... I used vellum finish bristol board and graphite to do the drawings, then scanned and digitally painted them in Photoshop

Artwork from work..

One good thing about being let go is that I had to clean out my desk.. I came across a bunch of artwork that I had forgotten about :)

One of my faves - and one just in time for the season, is the Santa I drew for the company Christmas card. Done entirely digitally [Photoshop + tablet]. At the end I started to run out of time, so the 'gifts' coming out of the bag were images that I added filters to. The rest, bag included was all created from scratch while looking at different references.

Ironic...

It is weird how things happen sometimes... I do admit that God's timing is impeccable.. I was let go last Friday and find it odd that I started this blog just the night before.

Weird.

But I am excited. Excited to be starting fresh... excited about new possibilities... even the unknown... and I guess it means I'll be updating a lot more :D

Christmas is in 10 days and I am an old married woman in 19... it is a great time for new...

Look for new posts soon!

Old skool...

So... we're going back a tiny bit...but there are a few images from college that I can still show... :) [not all of them get past this critic :D]

the first one was a poster for a guest speaker coming to talk to the college about relationships. The lavalife posters were pretty popular at the time so I did one similar to that campaign...

the second one was inspired by one of my art teachers.. he had us place ourselves as cartoons in predefined "worlds" [i.e. The Simpsons, Scooby Doo, etc] So I did another with Jak and Daxter.

illustration beginnings...

after noodling around for a bit, trying to figure out wordpress, I decided that since I am not that technically inclined - and because I don't want to wait for much longer to start an illustration blog that I would start a blogger page...

There are so many incredible illustrators on here that I have really been inspired... not that I am going to be super consistent at the beginning [getting married in 23 days kind of puts a damper on doing daily illustrations :P] so I'll just start with a few oldies but goodies, some new stuff and **hopefully** more consistent "daily sketches" early next year.

So - here it goes :)
